lets start the party with a bang !!!
it was full house at balmain on day 1 of fashion week at marina bay sands. and what a lovely first show it was. the models stomped down the 50m long runway to the thumping beats of a punk-esque soundtrack in outfits from the ss2014 collection, inspired by the rebellious punks of new york when they clashed with the downtown club culture.
the follow-up show, by bread and butter, showcased more than 15 labels, including 7 for all mankind, true religion and rock and republic, and featured a collection for both men and women with a ramped up sex quotient. it was a heady atmosphere with an intoxicating mix of ultra sexy, body hugging denims juxtaposed with commercially viable pieces.
the best seat in the house : view from the producer’s console show producer dominic min clarke calling the shots at balmain and bread&butter tools of the trade – printing out fitting pics backstage. thank you, epson, for the fab printersa quiet moment backstage with producer sam yeoend of day 1, and the hardworking production team readies the hall for day 21 down, 10 more days to go !!!
