it’s been a wonderful whirlwind of literary festivities as my publisher, marshall cavendish, unleashed my first published effort, the autobiographical fashion tome “The Book of Daniel : adventures of a fashion insider” on the world.
my virgin appearance as an author was at the singapore writers festival, sharing the stage with fellow writers pamela ho, loretta chen and katherine soh at a panel to discuss the writing of memoirs.
it was followed very quickly by a fab fashion party and book-signing hosted by Robinsons, which included a dramatic fashion show ( which utilised the better part of the store as a runway ) and a 1-minute “Book of Daniel” video ( produced by filmmaker michael wang ), which was projected on their mega screen overlooking orchard road.
the week ended on a spectacular high as i returned to the writers fest to launch the book at the festival pavilion
i was joined on stage by three good friends, international models vivien ong and sofia wakabayashi, both of whose stellar careers i’ve had the privilege of watching soar, and MTV personality alan wong, who moderated a lively session of fashion talk, insider gossip and all else in between.
it was a beautiful evening of catching up with friends old and new – fashion folks, former school mates, long-retired models and their exciting new generation successors – and my dearest familia.
The Book of Daniel is available at major bookstores and selected fashion stores, including Books Kinokuniya and Robinsons. You can also write to firstname.lastname@example.org for all overseas orders.
enjoy the book, and have a lovely weekend. cheers !
