The 5 Show, hosted by the fab yasminne cheng and chua enlai, dedicated a whole episode to fashion yesterday, and i was invited onto the show to share some insider insights. I was joined by the editor of Elle Singapore, sharon lim, and my stylists audrey ong and fairul shah.
we had lots of fun talking about the good, the bad and the bitchy of the fashion world, shared stories from The Book of Daniel, my recent autobiography, and gave our two cents worth on the fashion trends of the season ( enlai seemed to have his bohos and hobos mixed up ! ). i even found time to sneak in a shopping trip to robinsons @ heeren with host munah.
fashion, of course, is supposed to make you feel better about yourself, but when there is pressure to conform to societal norms, it can sometimes backfire. i had the chance to meet the lovely huda, who had issues with her body shape, and spent a lovely morning at robinsons showing how beautiful she could look in clothes that were appropriate for her. i taught here that there is no one ideal fashion size ; it is all about finding the right cut to suit your body shape. and one can look beautiful, no matter what that shape is.
and here’s what happened when the cameras stopped rolling ….
thanks, jennifer, for sending this image over !!!! 🙂
